Sophie Burnham is the author of genre-defying and unapologetically queer speculative fiction. Their debut novel Sargassa is a Locus Award finalist for Best First Novel, and is now available wherever books are sold. Its sequel Bloodtide is currently available for preorder ahead of publication on October 14, 2025.

They have been a participating writer in—and the script doctor behind—multiple studio film and television projects. They’re a recovering theatre kid with a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University. Sophie lives with their dog on an island in Rhode Island, which is not an island.
